Six go on to state contest for PTA Reflections

— After placing first in the regional PTA Reflections contest, the projects of six Grangeville students are headed to state competition in Boise.

This year’s theme was “What is Your Story?” Out of the 123 entries in Grangeville, 15 went on to the regional level.

Local winners of the Region 2 PTA Reflection event include the following:

•Visual Arts: “I like or love” by Teryn Baldus Grangeville Elementary Middle School, first grade (primary division); and “This is me” by Maya Hernandez, GEMS fifth grade (intermediate division).

•Literature: “What is your story?” by Isaiah Bybee, GEMS second grade (primary) and “I Believe in the Color Purple” by Grangeville High School junior Kate Lutz (high school division).

•Photography: “Forest Walk” by Hailey K. Russell, GHS junior (high school).

•Film Production: “The Death of the Red Baron” by Hollen Hays, GEMS sixth grade (middle school division).
