Cottonwood News: Crab Feed is Jan. 21

— Jim Chmelik was at the Greencreek Hall after Mass Sunday to give everyone a chance to see the table that he has made. This was featured in last week’s Free Press.

Between Jan. 9 and Jan. 24, Doumecq Highway District will be completing the Rice Creek Road Embankment Removal project. The road work will be done approximately two miles above the Salmon River Rice Creek Bridge at the Center Canyon / Rice Creek junction. During this time the road may be closed to all traffic, depending on the weather. The St. Anthony’s Society will be holding their annual Crab Feed Jan. 21 at the Greencreek Community Hall. Music will be by “Centerline” which is an ’80s rock band. Tickets are $30 per person. Call B & A Performance Auto, 962-7755 or Connie Schumacher, 962-3451, days or 962-7781.

Cottonwood Butte Ski Area set a new record with 179 skiers on opening day. The snow had a beautiful, light and fluffy texture and all trails were groomed to perfection. They will be open Friday, (6-10 p.m.) Saturday and Sunday (10 a.m.-4 p.m.) through January. They will also be open on Jan. 16 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
