Chinook salmon seasons winding down on Little Salmon and Lochsa Rivers

Idaho Fish and Game fishery managers estimate that as of Monday, July 3, salmon anglers have harvested a significant proportion of the harvest share of adult hatchery fish returning to the Little Salmon and Lochsa rivers.

Harvest shares are sufficient to support two additional days of fishing in both the Little Salmon and Lochsa rivers but may be insufficient in either area to support additional harvest for the entire four day fishing period. Fisheries managers will evaluate the fishery status for both rivers on Wednesday, July 5, and decide whether seasons will continue for the entire four day period or be shortened and close at the end of fishing on Friday or Saturday.

With season changes being implemented on short notice, anglers are encouraged to keep current on seasons, boundaries and limits by visiting the Fish and Game website at https://idfg.idaho.gov/fish/chinook/rules.
