Gipsy Moon will start the Summer Concert series off July 13

— “We are excited for a great lineup of bands and for the Summer Concert Series,” said Grangeville Arts volunteer Rachel Young.

For the eighth year. Grangeville Arts, Inc., and Grangeville Chamber of Commerce, with assistance from local donations, will offer the annual Summer Concert Series. All concerts will take place Thursdays, 6 p.m., at Pioneer (city) park.

Gipsy Moon will start the series off July 13. The group is a five-piece folk band based in the Rocky Mountains of Nederland, Colo. They provide a spectrum of music ranging from folk melodiess, to jazz improv, from retro slavic moods, to gypsy rhythms. Go to www.gipsymoonband.com/.

July 20 will feature Moscow duo Jon and Rand. They provide vintage favorites and singer/songwriter classics. Go to www.facebook.com/Jon-and-Rand.

The Moscow Mules will play July 27. This four-piece string band from Moscow, plays an eclectic, high-energy, harmonious mix of bluegrass, swing, and old-time music. The band features Grangeville High School graduate Sean Long. Find more online at www.facebook.com/pg/moscowmulesbluegrass.

The final concert of the season will bring in Lewiston favorites The Hitmen. This group offers a “fresh arrangement, and a genuine perspective on contemporary music.” Go to www.facebook.com/pg/theidahohitmen.

All concerts offer open, free admission to the public with donations accepted to help cover the travel expenses of the groups. Bring a chair and/or blanket, picnic dinner and the family to the park. The Grangeville Farmers’ Market will also have limited booths open on concert nights.
