GRANGEVILLE – It was a short-lived Congressional campaign for Grangeville businessman James Rockwell, who announced his backing out of the race to favor candidate Russ Fulcher.
“A man of action, of integrity, a strong supporter of our president,” Rockwell said in a July 4 release, noting he was ending his campaign for the Congressional District 1 seat up in 2018 – which was first announced in May – “with pleasure and with confidence, knowing we are in good and capable hands with Russ.”
The Congressional seat is currently held by four-term incumbent Raul Labrador, who has announced his intention to run for Idaho governor.
In the release, Rockwell, 56, thanked those who supported his campaign, including the Idaho County Republican Central Committee “for their total support, insight and advice.”
