GRANGEVILLE Super Egg Toss: Winners – Day 1, July 2, Tom Arnzen and Grady Arnzen of Spokane; Day 2, July 3, Josh Bransford and Jeremy Harris of Grangeville; Day 3, July 4, Lee Nadiger and Nolan Schoo of Grangeville. Nadiger and Schoo were also the winners of the competitors’ toss-off July 4.
On July 2, 1,076 people participated in the egg toss. On July 3, 1,270 people participated, and on July 4, that number was 1,440 people, for a grand total of 3,786 people during the three-day period.
Royalty: 2018 Border Days Queen is Micaela Farris, daughter of Jeff and Amy Farris of Grangeville. She is a junior at Grangeville High School. 2018 Border Days Princess is Bella Klapprich, daughter of Melissa Klapprich and Bilejo Klapprich of Grangeville. She is also a junior at GHS.
Parade: Best royalty on horseback: 1st Lewiston round up; 2nd triple bar drill team; Royalty float: 1st Idaho County Fair, 2nd N/A; Commercial float: 1st Buds PowerSports; 2nd Potlatch No. 1 Federal Credit Union; Non-commercial float: 1st Eagles Aerie 539; 2nd Smokey Bear/USFS.
Stick horse race: Five children participated in the three-night event — Mary Brown, Zoey Alm, Julia Klapprich, Garret Wren and Noah Cereghino. Cereghino had the fastest time during the course of three days and won a buckle sponsored by Farris Transport of Grangeville.
Border Days raffle: First-prize winner of $1,000 in cash (sponsored by Border Days committee) was Michael Wilson of Grangeville; second prize of $300 (sponsored by Quality Heating and Air) was won by David Alm, and third prize, $100 (sponsored by Leanne’s Flower and Garden Center) was won by R. Mahoney.
