Grangeville Senior Citizens
At the June 30 meeting Stanley Modrell led the Pledge of Allegiance and the prayer was given by Tom Helmick. There were 87 meals served at the site and 39 meals home-delivered. Pinochle winners were 1st, Gary Crea with 4,270 and 2nd, Jane Burgess with 4,260.
Stan Modrell opened the July 7 meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and the prayer was offered by Shirley Crane. Roberta Simonsen won the drawing for the free dinner. There were 93 meals served at the site and 34 hot and 28 frozen meals home-delivered.
Pinochle winners were 1st, Dolores Kindall with 5,160 and 2nd, Mel Willis with 4,740. Congratulations to Dick and Jennifer Artley who celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.
Menu for July 14th: Turkey a la king over biscuits, California blend vegetables, coleslaw, orange wedge and dessert. July 17th: Baked fish w/tartar sauce, rice pilaf, broccoli, vanilla pudding and watermelon.
Pioneer Senior Citizens (Cottonwood)
No meeting this past week due to the 4th of July holiday.
Seniors wanting to go to Lewiston to shop or to doctor’s appointments and don’t want to drive, call Coast driver, Katie Manifold, at 208-451-4090.
Come join us for a meal every Tuesday for a small donation, at the Pioneer Senior Center in the Cottonwood Community Hall basement. Meals are served at 12 noon.

Rough Riders 4-H Club
GRANGEVLLE — Rough Riders 4-H Club met Wednesday, June 21, at the Grangeville Border Days Arena.
Lisa and Ethan reported on the horse judging and riding clinic. Kortney reported on 4-H Day Camp which was held June 21.
The Horse show is set for July 29. Our club will set up the games for the horse show. Have all horse record books to Debbie by 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 25.
A community service project was discussed: Jinny Cash is hosting a “Horses and Heroes” July 21-23. She asked if the club could provide cookies and placemats for the event. There will be 10 participants and 10 volunteers.
The next meeting is set for July 19, 6 p.m., at the arena. This will be our annual potluck meeting!
