Cottonwood News: Tri-Parish picnic, Mass on tap for July 30

Our family went camping last week. We had a great time, caught some fish and the mountain lakes were beautiful. A nice getaway from the hubbub of summer work.

Tri-Parish Picnic and Mass in the Park will be held Sunday, July 30, Cottonwood City Park. Mass will begin at 11 a.m., and barbecue follows immediately after Mass. Bring a salad or dessert. If you want a beverage other than punch please bring your own beverage and a lawn chair.

A retreat at Monastery of St. Gertrude will be held Aug 11-13, Friday, 7:30 p.m., to Sunday, 1:30 p.m. A Sip of Silence with Sister Lillian and team leading the retreat. Contact 962-2000.

Keep the date open for the play “Chieftan” to be shown at Summit Academy on Aug. 11, 12, 13 at 6:30 p.m., each day and a matinee at 12:30 p.m., on Saturday, Aug. 13. More information to come on this.

Knights of Columbus Altar Server Appreciation Picnic is Wednesday, Aug. 2. The day will include lunch at Swallow’s Nest Park and an afternoon of swimming at the Clarkston Aquatic Center. We will gather at St. Mary’s Church parking lot at 9:30 a.m., and should be home between 4:30 and 5 p.m. The Knights will provide transportation, lunch and pay for admission. Signup on the sheets in the back of church or call Matt Beckman (962-7157) by July 31. Parents are welcome to attend. If you would like to drive down, let us know. Come and let the Knights show their appreciation for your service!
