— July has come and almost gone, we’re in the last week of the month. We finally got our summer, but where did the months go?

If you are liking the heat and want something to do for the upcoming weekend, remember Riggins is the place to be for Hot Summer Nights. This will be on July 28 and 29 at the park. Many activities and music will be going on, so don’t forget your lawn chairs.

Killgore Adventures is still working on their new headquarters on Highway 95 at Twin Bridges. They have some great tours going now and the rapids are great.

The big party held last weekend at the WBARD was the celebration of 50 years of marriage for Mr. and Mrs. Sickels. There were a lot of family and friends attending and a great time was had.

The countdown is on with just a little more than a month until the total solar eclipse will appear. This is the first to cross the entire country since 1918! It is said that 19 Idaho counties will be in the path and the Boise area is said to be one of the paths where people will be able to witness this event. They are predicting that it will pass into Idaho around 10:10 a.m., Mountain Time and pass out of Idaho in the east around 12:48 p.m., Mountain Time near Teton County.

There will be a celebration of life for John “Jack” Bailey on Saturday, July 29.This will be at the IOOF Hall in White Bird starting at 10 a.m., with a potluck dinner following.

Well, I think I am going to slow down after having the grandkids here for last weekend, forgot how much on the go a 1-year old is.

TidBits: Remember to give your loved ones a hug and kiss each day and tell them you love them. You never know what the next day or even the next hour will bring. Stay safe and enjoy this last month of summer…school begins at the end of August!!
