GHS cheerleading meeting, clinic set for June 7-8

GRANGEVILLE — An organizational meeting for Grangeville High School Coed Cheer is set for Wednesday, June 7, 6:30 p.m., at the GHS library. A parent/guardian must be in attendance and consent forms for the next day’s clinic/evaluation will be available.

GHS Coed Cheer will be holding an instructional clinic and evaluations on Thursday, June 8, from noon to 4 p.m., at the school for the upcoming 2017 season. All incoming freshmen through senior boys and girls interested in participating this coming season need to be in attendance.

Those participating must have a signed consent form to be eligible to participate in the clinic/evaluation. Forms may be obtained at the GHS office and can be turned in there or given to Coach Lee the day of the clinic. Wear appropriate gym clothes and clean gym shoes.

Veterans Center flagpole dedication

GRANGEVILLE — The public is invited to attend as the Veterans Center in Grangeville dedicates its new flagpole, which was erected as the Eagle Scout project of Kyle Alter. This Flag Day celebration will be held at noon on Wednesday, June 14.

Circus to be in Grangeville June 17

GRANGEVILLE – The Culpepper and Merriweather Circus will hold two performances in Grangeville, 2 and 4:30 p.m., Saturday, June 17, at the lot behind the Grangeville Senior Center on the Truck Route.

Purchases tickets now at Asker’s Harvest Foods and Cash and Carry Market in Grangeville; Cottonwood Foods; Whitewater Market in Riggins; and The General Store in White Bird. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for seniors (65 and older) and children 2—12; and free for kids younger than 2. Admission at the door is $13 and $8, respectively.

The event is sponsored in part by the Grangeville Chamber of Commerce.

Geis-Rieman family reunion set for June 24

KEUTERVILLE – Members of the Geis-Rieman families will gather Saturday, June 24, at the Keuterville Hall at noon for a family reunion get-together. The event is a potluck; BYOB. For questions call Betty at 503-9010.

Heart Walk fund-raiser set for June 10

GRANGEVILLE – The Annual Heart Walk fund-raiser is set for Saturday, June 10, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Grangeville High School track.

Everyone is welcome to come anytime during the walk. A gift basket valued at $100 and donated by Idaho Forest Group will be raffled .

The walk is free to participate in; however, donations for The Children’s Heart Foundation are welcomed. Those who are unable to attend can also go to the Facebook page of Jennifer Pollan and click the link. For details call Pollan at 507-1478.

American Legion will meet tonight

GRANGEVILLE — The Grangeville American Legion Post No. 37 will have its June meeting this Wednesday, June 7, 7 p.m., at the Idaho County Veterans and Community Center at 318 W. Main. This will be the last meeting before the summer recess. A Post Everlasting Ceremony will be conducted for members Harry Owens and Wayne MacGregor. Contact Post Adjutant Don Owen at 983-6417.

Royalty clinic set for Saturday, July 8

GRANGEVILLE – The Boots and Bling Royalty Clinic will be held Saturday, July 8, at the Border Days Arena.

The schedule is still being finalized; however, the event will start at 8 a.m. and run to 4 or 5 p.m.

This is for girls 18 and younger and the cost is $25 which includes lunch.
