WHITE BIRD Let ‘er Rip with White Bird’s annual rodeo and days event this weekend, June 16 and 17.
The rodeo starts Friday, June 16, at the White Bird Rodeo Arena, U.S. Highway 95 at Twin Bridges, six miles south of White Bird.
Steer riding takes place at 6:15 p.m. with the rodeo at 6:30 p.m.
White Bird Days will take place Saturday, June 17, starting with a 7 to 10 a.m. cowboy breakfast at the IOOF Hall.
The parade, with the theme of Adventure Idaho: Living the Good Life at 11 a.m. Parade entries can call 839-2457 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. All classic car owners are invited to join the Camas Prairie Cruisers Car Club in the parade. Just meet up with the cars and their drivers at the entrance to White Bird at 10:15 a.m.
The royalty luncheon will be held at the IOOF Hall following the parade. Games at the White Bird Area Recreation District (old school) for both kids and adults is set, and an art show and sale will be held downtown as well as a variety of concessions. Music will be downtown both nights with the band “The Hitmen.” The annual Duck Derby will also take place as a fund-raiser for the library. A pie social will benefit the White Bird Chamber of Commerce.

Saturday’s rodeo starts with mutton busting at 3:45 p.m., followed by steer riding at 4:45 p.m., and the main rodeo at 5 p.m.
A stick horse race will be held Saturday only at 3 p.m. The calf scramble is set for both days with two age groups: 3-7 and 8-12.
The EhCapa bareback riders will perform at the Saturday rodeo and be in the parade.
Rodeo tickets at the gate are $8 for adults, $6 for ages 6-12, with 5 and younger getting in free; programs are $1.
