Cottonwood News: Keith Wassmuth to be honored at Greencreek event

— With the nice sunny days the farmers are starting to cut hay. Some is already baled. Crops are reported to be short because of the cold weather this spring.

Congratulations to Dick Remacle on being presented the VFW Lifetime Achievement Award. What an honor for him and his family. Thank you for your service to our country.

Celebrate with us at the Greencreek 4th of July Celebration. Flag-raising is at 6 a.m., followed by Mass at 7 a.m. Breakfast will be served from 7 to 11 a.m., with hamburgers and homemade pies served after that until 4 p.m. The auction is at 1 p.m., followed by the raffle drawings. Bingo goes all day. Grand marshal this year is honoring the memory of Keith Wassmuth, represented by his dad, Virgil Wassmuth. See you all there!

The Idaho County Fair Royalty committee is seeking young ladies ages 14 to 18 interested in participating in the 2017-2018 royalty program. Girls must be going into their sophomore through senior years of high school and be available through the completion of the fair. Deadlline for applicants has been extended to July 14. Royalty applications may be picked up at the Idaho County Courthouse or by calling the royalty adviser, Karla Enneking at 962-3892 or e-mail
