LOWELL / SYRINGA Two black helicopters flew upriver fast and low last weekend, about 25 feet above the Middlefork of the Clearwater and kept going east up the Lochsa. Loud, fast, and very low, scared us all for a few seconds. It happened so fast the photos I took were all blurry.
I read that Secretary of Interior Zinke was in Montana last week, so maybe he was checking out Idaho as well.
I was standing out front with a recently divorced friend, won’t mention any names. He said, “Oh shoot, I’m behind on my alimony, I didn’t think she’d find me this time!” He was up here bear hunting.
My mom will be 99 years old next week. She was born on July 4, 1918. She wrote her family history in her early nineties and just recently secured a website to share. You can view it on www.marthaengledow.com. Her grandson, Marty Smith, set it all up as a 99th birthday gift.
