Prairie Senior Citizens

COTTONWOOD — Agnes Forsman opened the June 20 meeting of the Pioneer Senior Citizens with the Pledge of Allegiance and Elred Nuxoll led the dinner prayer.

There were no guests this week.

There were 50 meals served with 21 takeouts.

Donna Barnett won the free dinner.

Hilda Nuttman shared a couple of jokes with the group.

Jim Barnett and Katie Remacle split the nickel bingo pot and Sylvia Forsmann won the blackout.

Door prize winners were Lloyd Nuxoll, Norma Schumacher, Margie Schumacher, Marianne Wren, Katie Remacle and Jane Broker.

Doris and Ron Sonnen are sharing rhubarb from their garden. Thanks!

Seniors wanting to go to Lewiston to shop or doctor’s appointments and don’t want to drive, call Coast driver Katie Manifold at 208-451-4090.

Come join us for a meal every Tuesday for a small donation at the Pioneer Senior Center in the Cottonwood Community Hall basement. Meals are served at 12 noon.

No Meal on July 4. Menu for July 11: German Sausage, Oven Roasted Potatoes & Carrots, Coleslaw, Breadstick, Peaches, Pudding.

To order meals delivered, call City Hall at 962-3231.

Grangeville Senior Citizens

GRANGEVILLE -- June 19: Stanley Modrell opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and Barbara Henderson gave the prayer.

There were 84 meals delivered at the site and 32 hot meals home delivered. There were no guests this week.

Pinochle winners were: 1st Marilyn Burris with 5,870; 2nd Dolores Kindall with 5,530 and 3rd Mel Willis with 5,510.

The June 23rd meeting was opened with the Pledge led by Stanley Modrell and the prayer given by Shirley Crane. There were 90 meals served at the site and 36 hot and 28 frozen meals home delivered. Jane Burgess shared a joke. Pinochle winners were: 1st Mary Purdy with 4,010; 2nd Jane Burgess with 4,000 and 3rd Stan Modrell with 3,940.

Menu for June 30: Meat Loaf, Steamed Red Potatoes, Broccoli/Cauliflower, Pears w/Cottage Cheese and Roll. The center will be closed July 3.
