Invasive plan workshop set for Kamiah

— Idaho County Invasive Plant Management and the Upper Clearwater Weed Management Area are conducting a weed management workshop to promote weed management education to local landowners and applicators on Monday, March 20.

The morning session will be held at the American Legion Hall, 618 Main Street in Kamiah with registration at 8 a.m. The workshop will begin at 8:15 a.m., and continue until lunch. The afternoon session will be held at CH Farm and Ranch, 504 No Kid Lane in Kamiah.

Participants will learn how to build a simple weed control plan, identify local high risk weeds, calibrate spray equipment and to use a phone or tablet to map invasive plants. There will be an introduction to biological weed control and ISDA pesticide credits will be available.

This workshop is unique in that participants will be able to bring spray equipment for calibration and phone or tablet to download free mapping software. Equipment will be available.
