— The St. Mary’s Mardi Gras Fund-raiser is just around the corner on March 25. We will have a prime rib dinner, catered by Rodonna’s, as well as live and silent auctions. This year we have guns, fishing trips, Stihl chain saws and a cord of wood, one ton of pellets, and many more items up for bid. We have a great DJ to provide music and the Black Jack tables will be running. Tickets are $35 each and are available at the front desk at the hospital, or you can purchase them at the door. We hope you all can make it!

I would like to recognize all road district workers who have put in so many hours this winter keeping the snow off the roads. Also, those who clear the sidewalks at the churches and businesses, deliver the mail or the newspaper, as well as the nurses and doctors who have put in extra time because of the bad weather. Where would we be if not for you? Stuck at home with nothing to read! I want to especially recognize Lloyd Nuxoll for faithfully plowing snow around the church and community hall parking lot at Greencreek. He has been doing this every year for a long time. Good job, Lloyd!

BUNKO-next Saturday, March 18, at Assumption Parish Hall following 5 p.m. Mass. All adults are welcome, $5 for entrance and the pot is split at the end. If possible, bring finger food. It is a fun game and easy to learn.

The Divine Mercy Chaplet is being prayed every day, including weekends, at St. Mary’s at 3:30 p.m. We start promptly at 3:30 and it takes about 12 minutes. Join us!

Father- Son Breakfast — join us on March 19 at Assumption Parish Hall. We will be serving breakfast from 9:15-9:50 a.m.

Taco Tuesday fund-raiser by the 2018 Haiti Team: March 21 at the KC Hall from 5-7:30 p.m. Mark your calendars! These teens work hard to raise money to go to a foreign country to work with the poor.

OK to eat meat March 17

Bishop Peter Christensen has issued a dispensation to Catholics in the Diocese for St. Patrick’s Day, Friday, March 17th. You are allowed to eat meat on that day.

Christ the King Preschool and Daycare, owned and operated by Summit Academy, will be opening May 1. They will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. $25. registration and prepay monthly. Space is limited so register now. Call or e-mail to reserve your space at 962-3363 or preschool@summitacademyid.com. Full days or half days available.

My grandson, Lane, says it is officially spring since he shot a squirrel yesterday. At least the snow melts faster and it is starting to green up on open hillsides.
