Grangeville Senior Center

March 10 – pledge, Stanley Modrell; prayer, Shirley Crane; free dinner, Richard Uptmor; meals at site: 88 with 38 hot and 53 frozen home-deliveries; pinochle winners: 1, Mel Willis, 6470, 2, Gary Crea, 6080.

Menu: March 20 – chili con carne, tossed vegetable salad/balsamic dressing, apricots, small cinnamon roll; March 17 (St. Patrick’s Day, fiddlers) – corned beef and cabbage, steamed red potatoes and carrots, green salad, fruit compote.

Pioneer Senior Center

Dolores VonBargen opened the March 7 meeting of the Pioneer Senior Citizens with the Pledge of Allegiance and also gave the dinner prayer. Guest this week: Marge Lamb. There were 36 meals served and 18 takeouts. Bob Talbott won the free dinner.

Hilda Nuttman won the nickel Bingo pot and Anna Gehring won the blackout. Door prize winners were Mary Ann Kuther, Jim Beckman, Hilda Nuttman, Vern Uhlorn, Marlene Schumacher and Joanne Sonnen.

Seniors wanting to go to Lewiston to shop or doctor’s appointments and don’t want to drive, call Coast driver Katie Manifold at 208-456-4090.

Come join us for a meal every Tuesday for a small donation at the Pioneer Senior Center in the Cottonwood Community Hall basement. Meals are served at noon.

Menu for March 21: Minestrone Soup, Corn Bread w/Honey Butter, Strawberry Jello, Mandarin Oranges. To order meals delivered, call city hall, 962-3231.
