— I have received word that Rod has gone through his stem cell transplant and is doing real well. He will be home by the weekend, but keep the prayers going for this to work. Speedy recovery to you, Rod.

There will be a memorial service for Kenny Ruttman on May 6 at the IOOF Hall here in White Bird. No time has been set as of yet but will keep everyone informed.

Sophomore, Marie Heckman, has been working on a project that has required her to do some cutting here at home, as she is making a fire pit, then will take it to the school to weld for a fabrication and welding course.

SRAG had a wonderful turnout over the weekend at Hoot’s. If you forgot to stop in, there were many items to choose from and all were very pretty and well-done. The library also held a bake sale during this time, and am sure they had some delicious items for sale.

Under the wind protesting, the rodeo queen for 2017 was chosen last Saturday. Congratulations to Cassie Chandler of Slate Creek. Her parents are Travis and Chandra Chandler. I will have more on her later.

Remember the WBARD will be hosting the monthly breakfast on March 26, starting at 8 a.m., running until 10 a.m. This takes place at the Rec building and the public is welcomed to attend.

The annual Easter egg hunt will also be on the 15th at the Rec Building. Farmers will be hosting this and are looking for donations for the kids in all age groups. Call 839-2395 if you can help in any way.

Then on Sunday, April 16, the Baptist church will be holding their Easter sunrise service at the Battlefield turnout on Hwy. 95. More information on this can be found by calling 839-2220.

Last of the month birthdays are: Taylor Kunkel, Megan Carlin, Max Calley III, Robert Gordon, Ashlynn Cullin, Jug, Ray Stowers, Tracye Randell, and Jim Marek. In memory of Colin Rhoades and Tyrel Chandler.

TidBits: I just want everyone to be careful out there as Mother Nature hasn’t loosened her grip on winter yet. First day of Spring was Monday, along with that I hope the good weather is on the way. Buttercups, birds, new babies being born and all of us have that “cabin fever”, but with high water, mud slides and many roads either being closed or destroyed. Be aware of your surrounding at all times…it can change in a blink of an eye.
