Pirates Open League Play With A ‘W’

On the strength of extra-base hits by Brandon Anderson, Jace Perrin and Owen Anderson, Prairie notched a 6-1 win over Clearwater Valley last Thursday, March 23, at CVHS. Pictured, Prairie coach Dave Shears greets pitcher Spencer Schumacher after an inning-ending strikeout of Clearwater Valley’s Mitch Morrow (5, background). When Schumacher relieved starter Derick Arnzen in the fourth inning, PHS already held a 5-1 lead, having clipped CV starter Morrow for five runs in the top of the third. In addition to pitching and catching, Morrow had one of the Rams’ six hits during the contest.
