National Day of Prayer event set for May 4 in Grangeville

GRANGEVILLE – The Idaho County National Day of Prayer event is set for Thursday, May 4, noon to 1 p.m., at the Veteran and Community Outreach Center in Grangeville, 318 E. Main Street.

Lutheran church activities set

KAMIAH — Faith Lutheran Church, located at 6th and Idaho streets in Kamiah, welcomes everyone to weekly Sunday worship at 9 a.m. Pastor Gail Hart provides sermons and support.

Weekly Bible studies are held on Thursdays. Men meet at the bakery at 7 a.m., and women meet at the church at 10 a.m.

Encouragers canceled for May

GRANGEVILLE — Encouragers Thursday, May 4, meeting will be cancelled and those who wish are invited to participate in a local National Day of Prayer meeting scheduled at the Veterans Center on Main Street in Grangeville.

Encouragers will meet on Thursday, June 1, at Oscar’s at 11:30 a.m. for a no-host luncheon. State representative Priscilla Giddings will speak.

Prayer gathering set for May 13

GRANGEVILLE – A prayer gathering for pastors and people interested in praying for the nation and community is set for noon Saturday, May 13, at the Soltman Center in Grangeville.

Elder Diego Barela called to serve at Panamá City Mission

Elder Diego Barela of the Grangeville Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been called to serve in the Panamá City Mission, for a 24-month Spanish speaking mission.

The Grangeville High School graduate is the son of Steve and Bridgett Barela of Grangeville. He entered the missionary training center in Provo, Utah, on April 12, 2017.
