— Looks like the fund-raiser for the Elk City Volunteer Fire Department was a huge success judging by the number of cars parked all around the VFW – up and down the street, filling both parking lots. Unfortunately, I was not able to attend.

That immature bald eagle that visited out “eagle tree” on last Sunday was here again this Sunday, only with a friend, a mature bald eagle. Thought you might enjoy the photo although it is a little blurry.

Stay tuned for upcoming events for Memorial Day in both Elk City and Dixie.

Peg Gehring, FNP, will be at the Elk City Clinic on May 25, from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Call 962-3267 for an appointment.

Dr. Kim Wolfrum, veterinarian, will be in Elk City May 16-17. Call her for an appointment at 208-553-9283.

Meetings: American Legion on the 10th; VFW on the 11th; Idaho Food Bank on the 16th.
