May 5 – Pledge, Stanley Modrell; Prayer, Barbara Essen; Free Dinner, Gary Crea; Meals at site: 74 with 29 hot and 48 frozen deliveries.

Menu: May 12, Mother’s Day: Roast Turkey, Bread Stuffing, Brown Gravy, Peas, Cranberry Sauce, Orange Slices. May 15: Chinese Stir Fry, Rice, Cucumbers in Vinegar, Peaches, Peanut Butter Cookie.

Pioneer Senior Citizens

Dolores Von Bargen opened the May 2 meeting of the Pioneer Senior Citizens with the Pledge of Allegiance and she also gave the dinner prayer. Guests were Mark Tacke, Ella Schaeffer, Cindy (Terhaar) Connelly of Troy and Larry and Karon Schlieper of Kamiah.

There were 45 meals served and 17 takeouts.

Karon Schlieper won the free dinner.

Marianne Wren won the nickel Bingo pot and Anna Gehring won the blackout.

Door prize winners were Mary Purdy, Jean Johnson, Dolores Von Bargen, Lorraine Nuxoll, Sylvia Forsmann and Mel Willis.

Seniors wanting to go to Lewiston to shop or to doctor’s appointments and don’t want to drive, call Coast driver Katie Manifold at 208-456-4090.

Come join us for a meal every Tuesday for a small donation at the Pioneer Senior Center in the Cottonwood Community Hall basement. Meals are served at 12 noon.

Tuna Loaf with Gravy, Baked Potatoes, Peas, Tropical Fruit, Whole Wheat Roll.
