5K fund-raiser planned for June 17
COTTONWOOD — The first annual XC Pirate 5K run will go off at 10 a.m. June 17 at the Prairie elementary school.
Pre-entries close June 3. Early entry fee is $10 for the run only or $25 including a T-shirt. Late entries will be taken up to race time with a $5 late fee.
The course is "mostly paved and stroller-friendly."
Proceeds will help the cross-country team, which is funded solely by volunteer coaches.

Softball clinics set
Fishback Fastpitch will hold a hitting and pitching clinic on Saturday, May 20, at the Joseph fields in Moscow. The fields are located on the corner of Mountain View Dr and Joseph Street. The hitting clinic runs 9-11 a.m. with the pitching clinic to go noon to 2 p.m. No experience is needed. Open to girls ages 8-18.

Basketball camp scheduled June 5-7
GRANGEVILLE — GHS girls basketball coach Michelle Barger and GHS players will hold camps for girls grades K-3 and 4-8 three days, June 5-7. Cost is $35 including T-shirt. Contact Barger, 983-8005.
Free throw-a-thon set
GRANGEVILLE — GHS basketball players will shoot 100 free throws each June 7 at GEMS as part of a pledge drive fund-raiser to help cover 2017 team camp costs.
25th Annual Spring Fling hits this weekend
The Camas Prairie Bowmen will host their 25th Annual Spring Fling 3D shoot this weekend, May 20-21, at their range south of Grangeville. Take the Grangeville-Salmon Road 2.8 miles south to reach the facility.
Registration is 7-10 a.m. each day. Rangefinders are not allowed for the Saturday trophy shoot. Rangefinders are allowed for Sunday fun shoot.
