Grangeville recycling site closed for Memorial Day weekend
GRANGEVILLE – The Grangeville site for Idaho County Recycling will be closed on Saturday, May 27, for the Memorial Day weekend. Normal operating hours will resume in June.
City of Riggins receives $2,500 grant for park stage
RIGGINS — The City of Riggins was recently awarded grant funds through the Idaho Community Foundation’s Northern Region Competitive Grants Panel. The city will receive $2,500 to assist with the renovation of the Riggins City Park stage.
July 12 airport ceremony to feature antique aircraft display
GRANGEVILLE – Following last year’s multi-million-dollar runway and taxiway reconstruction project, the Idaho County Airport will hold a grand reopening ceremony on July 12. The event is planned to include participation by the Puget Sound Antique Airplane Club, which will put an estimated 30 planes on static display.

Emphasis patrols in Idaho County through June 4 on unrestrained drivers
With the start of the busy summer travel season, the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) Office of Highway Safety and its law enforcement partners are reminding drivers across the state to Click It Don’t Risk It. From May 22 through June 4, law enforcement agencies across Idaho – including the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, and Grangeville and Cottonwood police departments — will be on the lookout for people who choose not to wear seat belts. This is part of a larger, nationwide effort to improve seat belt usage across the country.
