WARREN Cause is undetermined for a fatal vehicle crash last week that claimed the life of a Warren man.
The body of Earnest Wright, 65, was in his vehicle, found Saturday, Nov. 4, over the embankment off Forest Service Road 340 approximately three miles southeast of Warren Summit. According to the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office (ICSO), medical issues are a suspected factor in the crash.
ICSO was contacted earlier that morning by the family after Wright failed to return from a hunting trip the night prior, Friday, Nov. 3. The family searched through the night, and a Backcountry Medic helicopter was called in Saturday to assist the search late that morning. Around 11 a.m., the Wright family located Wright’s vehicle.
ICSO extended its appreciation to Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office and its sheriff, Chris Goetz, for assistance with this incident. Also assisting was a member of the Idaho County Sheriff’s Cadet Program.
Heikkila Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Lt. Doug Ulmer said, “Backcountry is a valuable resource for Idaho County Search and Rescue and was integral to the completion of this operation.”
