Bingo set for Nov. 18 in Elk City

ELK CITY – Bingo is set for this Saturday, Nov. 18, 5 p.m., at the Elk City VFW Hall.

Home driving tour brochures available

GRANGEVILLE – Brochures for the Grangeville Turn of the Century Home Driving Tour can be picked up at Bicentennial Historical Museum, 305 North College Street, Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m. (winter hours) or call 208-983-2573. They are also available at The Idaho County Genealogical Society, 111 South Idaho Street, Grangeville, which is open Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 1 to 4 p.m.

Nazarene Church to host Thanksgiving dinner

GRANGEVILLE – The Grangeville Church of the Nazarene will host its annual community Thanksgiving dinner Sunday, Nov. 19, 2 p.m., at Grangeville Elementary Middle School. Everyone is invited. The church provides all the food and there is no cost to attendees.

Nov. 20 Naval Academy information session

GRANGEVILLE – Grangeville High School’s college and career readiness specialist will be hosting an information session about the Naval Academy Monday, Nov. 20, 7 p.m., at the GHS library.

The target audience is 8th to 11th grade students, and their parent/guardian. Home and private-school students are welcome as well.

Clearwater Meal Center luncheon set for today

CLEARWATER – The Clearwater Meal Center’s next luncheon is set for today, Wednesday Nov. 15, noon. This will be a Thanksgiving turkey dinner. Meals are served the first and third Wednesdays of each month at the Clearwater Baptist Church. No charge for the luncheon, $5 donation appreciated when possible. All are welcome. Call 208-926-7776.

Library activities set for Family Read Week

GRANGEVILLE — Come Celebrate Family Read Week at Grangeville Centennial Library Nov. 15 and 16.

Today, Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 15, the library story time is from 11-11:30 a.m. Join in reading prince and princess stories and make your crowns and tiaras.

Tonight, Wednesday night at Grangeville Elementary Middle School, from 4-6 p.m., join if for lots of stations of fun activities like making masks, dioramas, raffles, prizes and a photo booth. Hot dogs and chips will be available for purchase by the student council.

Thursday night at the library, from 4-6 p.m., there will be a pajama party. Join in for folk tales, pizza and chess. The Chess Guy will be there, and the library will be announcing the Kaya American Girl Doll essay winner and giving away prizes.

Volleyball open gym night offered Nov. 18 by UYLC YAB

KAMIAH —The Wa-A’Yas Community Center will be open as an option for youth 12 and older with free time on their hands on Saturday, Nov. 18, from 6-8 p.m. In an effort to fill a void of a safe place to frequent and programming for the teens in our community, UYLC Youth Advisory Board (YAB) is hosting a volleyball open gym night.

This event is part of a larger effort by the UYLC YAB. Through focused discussions, they determined that there were not enough healthy and safe activities for their peers in the community. They presently offer one activity per month, with an eye on providing activities every weekend. This active group of community minded youth has formed partnerships and applied for grants to be able to achieve this goal. They welcome new partnerships, feedback, and ideas; they can be contacted at Upriverylc@gmail.com.

Kooskia Community Party is Saturday

KOOSKIA – The annual Kooskia Community Party is set for this Saturday, Nov. 18, 2 to 4 p.m. The community is invited to this free event.

Hot dogs, refreshments and other snacks will be served. Prizes will be drawn every half hour and other gifts will be available. The event will be held at city/community hall and is sponsored by Gateway Church Fellowship.

Thanksgiving Eve at The Life Center

KAMIAH —The Life Center on Highway 12 between Kamiah and Kooskia is hosting a special event. Start Thanksgiving with one hour of music, reminisce about the rich history of the nation, and focus on the positive things in life. This event begins at 6 p.m. Bring your family and friends.

Free Thanksgiving dinner set for The Hangout

COTTONWOOD — The Hangout, 603 Front Street, Cottonwood, will host a free Thanksgiving dinner Thursday, Nov. 23, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Turkey, ham, dressing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, rolls, dessert and beverage will all be available at no cost. Call 208-962-7383.

Cowboy Christmas set for Nov. 25

GRANGEVILLE — A Cowboy Christmas Gift and Craft Bazaar is set for Saturday, Nov. 25, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Idaho County Veterans Center. Tack, gifts, jewelry, music and more will be available. To be a vendor call 983-1033.

Grangeville’s Christmas parade, lighting set for Nov. 25

GRANGEVILLE — Grangeville Border Days Royalty is putting on a lighted “Country Christmas” parade prior to the tree lighting Saturday, Nov. 25. Parade line-up is 4 p.m., North Idaho Street and the route will stop at Pioneer Park. All entries must be decorated with lights; free entry. Coat drive set at GEMS

GRANGEVILLE – Mrs. Bush’s fourth-fifth grade class at Grangeville Elementary Middle School is holding a coat drive. A drop-box is available by the GEMS office and near the school library. New and gently used coats only, now through Dec. 8.

Bingo is Nov. 17 in Kamiah

KAMIAH – American Legion Post No. 75 will be host to Bingo this Friday, Nov. 17, 7:30 p.m., downstairs of the legion hall, 618 Main Street.

Photograph restoration workshop set for Nov. 20

CRAIGMONT – A free workshop on photo restoration is set for Monday, Nov. 20, at Craigmont Community Hall from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

A photo restoration display will follow from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Lunch is set for this time as well, and $5 will purchase a sandwich, chips, fruit and cookie. The Lewis County Historical Society meeting will follow from 1 to 2 p.m.
