Stites man charged with meth possession
KOOSKIA -- A preliminary hearing is set for Wednesday, Nov. 22, for Kenneth M. Vopat, 53, of Stites, who is charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Vopat was arrested Nov. 12 in Kooskia, according to the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office. Corporal Craig Hoodman observed Vopat – out of bond on an unrelated felony unlawful possession of a firearm charge -- exiting a story carrying alcohol. Hoodman made contact to determine if Vopat were violating his conditions of release, during which Vopat’s speech and behavior allegedly indicated he was under the influence of a narcotic.
Kooskia man charged with statutory rape of 17-year-old female
Preliminary hearing is set for Wednesday, Nov. 22 for Glenn A. Mason, 58, of Kooskia, who is charged with statutory rape, a felony.
In the case, the rape charge is defined in Idaho code 18-6101(2) with the victim being 16 or 17 years of age, and the perpetrator is three or more years older.
Mason was arrested Nov. 10 at his U.S. Highway 12 residence. According to the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Keith Olsen and Corporal were at the residence on a theft case follow-up, during which Mason was allegedly found in bed with a 17-year-old female. Subsequent interviews indicated a sexual relationship existed between the pair.
