Timber sale prep may cause delays Cove Road

Visitors to the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests should be prepared for short–term travel delays on Cove Road (Forest Service road 279), located on the Salmon River Ranger District, as part of early work on the Doc Denny Stewardship timber sale.

Logging operations are expected to begin in January 2018.

Operations -- which may include roadside brushing, ditch cleaning, blading, and culvert replacement -- will be occurring on Cove Road for the next two to three weeks as the stewardship contractor, IFG Timber, LLC, prepares for upcoming logging operations related to the Doc Denny Stewardship sale. These operations may result in short–term delays for those traveling on the east end of Cove Road in the Dry Gulch area.

Signs will be posted on either side of the operations, alerting travelers to the activities. Visitors are encouraged to drive defensively and be aware of workers and equipment operating in this area.
