Cottonwood News: Movie being filmed in area

Donna Wassmuth Cottonwood 962-3561

— I received this article from Frances Conklin at Dog Bark Park: “On Nov 21st parts of an independent feature film were filmed in and around Cottonwood. The film, tentatively titled ‘Mischief Upon Mischief,’ is an alien-abduction PG 13 thriller that from what I have heard contains a bit of everything including guns, hospitals, and romance. One of the producers, and leading actor, Jeffrey Decker, grew up in Lewiston and now works in Los Angeles. He selected Idaho for shooting the entire film during the month of November because of its varied landscapes and because of his wide connections in Idaho. His parents reside in Lewiston and he has relatives in Nezperce and Greencreek where lodging, ranch scenes, horses and guns were enlisted for the filming. Filming began yesterday at Dog Bark Park and then moved to St. Mary’s Hospital, then to some outside scenes including outside a bar (not sure where.) A number of the production crew are also from Idaho. All in all, there were about 20 people involved.”

On another note. Dog Bark Park is celebrating 20 years of being in Cottonwood. “It just occurred to me that since we’re celebrating our 20th anniversary with online announcements, it might be fitting to also let local folks know of this milestone. Twenty years ago this past spring, we broke ground on the grassy patch of land at the entrance to town. Every year since then we’ve planted more landscaping and added art structures on the property. Visitors come from around the country and world to see Idaho’s big beagle. Between now and Christmas Eve, we’re celebrating with 20 percent off most in-store items which include our chainsaw carved dog carvings in various breeds, our Sweet Willy: Story of Dog Bark Park book, mugs, postcards, jigsaw puzzles and more. Customers need to mention they saw our celebration sale in your column to enjoy the discounts.”
