Grangeville Senior Citizens

Sept. 25 – pledge, Stanley Modrell; prayer, Carl Sommer; free dinner, Claire Satre; meals at site: 90, with 42 hot home-delivery; joke by Jane Burgess; pinochle winners: 1, Marilyn Burris, 3340, 2, Mel Willis 3310.

Sept. 29 – pledge, Stanley Modrell; prayer, Shirley Crane; meals at site: 92 with 39 hot and 67 frozen home-delivered; pinochle winners: 1, Beth Parish, 5380, Marilyn Burris, 4580.

Menu: Oct. 6 – Happy Birthday - tuna noodle bake, green beans, green salad/balsamic dressing, mandarin oranges, date bars; Oct. 9 – pulled BBQ pork sliders, coleslaw, orange cupcakes, apricots.

Pioneer Senior Citizens

Agnes Forsman opened the Sept. 26 meeting of the Pioneer Senior Citizens with the Pledge of Allegiance and Elred Nuxoll led the dinner prayer. There were 60 meals served with 26 take-outs and eight frozen dinners. Lorraine Nuxoll won the free dinner. Larry Clark and Chris Remacle each shared a joke with the group.

Door prize winners were Carol Altman, Barb Rehder, Marge lamb, Eleanor Hinkelman, Sylvia Forsmann, Isabel Kaschmitter and Loycie Sonnen. Welcome back to the fiddlers for the fall season.

Seniors wanting to go to Lewiston to shop or doctor’s appointments and don’t want to drive, call Coast driver Katie Manifold at 509-397-2935.

Come join us for a meal every Tuesday for a small donation at the Pioneer Senior Center in the Cottonwood Community Hall basement. Meals are served at noon.

Menu for Oct. 10: Tater Tot Casserole w/Green Beans, Spinach Salad, Peaches, Bread.

3 Rivers Amateur Radio Club

At the September meeting we discussed the recent long power outage and how to prepare for another one.

Anyone with an interest in amateur radio or wanting to find out what amateur radio is about is invited to attend our meetings. The next club meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct 10, at the meeting room at the Kamiah KOA (former Lewis and Clark Resort) on U.S. Highway 12, two miles east of Kamiah. Amateur radio license tests will be administered at 5:30 p.m. just before the meeting.
