The Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) would like to start with thanking everyone who has already taken the time to volunteer or helped with your generous donations.
ARF’s mission is to develop a “no kill” regional animal shelter that will: protect the welfare of abandoned and abused pets, provide care and shelter to pets, spay and neuter to prevent future unwanted pets. Secure adoptive homes for pets and support community awareness of ethical treatment of animals.
ARF has established a nine-person board of directors and has built relationships with Idaho County, the City of Grangeville, law enforcement, regional veterinarians, volunteers and financial supporters.
We have obtained a 501c3 status, have a working website capable of receiving and recording donations, established a social media connection and have completed a land survey for the proposed facility location. ARF is currently working closely with the Clearwater Economic Development Association (CEDA) on a conceptual design, thanks to a United States Department of Agriculture grant.
The City of Grangeville is supportive of our project. We have a documented letter of intent for a gift of a half-acre to build the ARF facility, and another half-acre to lease to help with exercising the animals, for portable pens, etc.
Animal Ark is also in support of an ARF shelter, with one of ARF’s board members being a representative for Animal Ark.
In short, ARF is gaining momentum with plans to have the facility operational by 2020.
Please visit our website, www.arfshelter.org, or our Facebook page to find out how you can help. You can also mail your donations to Animal Rescue Foundation, P.O. Box 72, Grangeville, ID 83530, or take your donation for ARF to Potlatch Federal Credit Union in Grangeville. All donations are tax deductible.
