SRAG art show results announced

— The Salmon River Art Guild’s Regional Fall Show, was held Oct. 7 and 8. The annual event brought in 108 entries and show winners from as far away as Boise and Anatone, Wash.

Show judge Sharon Herther of Donnelly commented on the talent and excellence in this year’s entries. She said that it was a difficult event to judge.

The Salmon River Art Guild has grown over the years and boasts nearly 70 members. More information on the Salmon River Art Guild, based in White Bird, ID can be found at www.salmonriverartguild.com.

Results are as follows:

•Best of Show: Andy Sewell, Viola, ID with Gold in the Boulders

•Opal Carlson Landscape Award, Gloria Dawson Teats, White Bird, with Salmon River Mountains

•Oil/Acrylic: First: Kaye York, Cambridge, Fording The River; Second: Kaye York, Cambridge, Receding Fog; Third: Gloria Dawson Teats, White Bird, Early Morning Light.

•Watercolor-Water Media: First: Pearl Maxner, Kamiah, Woodsman’s Hands; Second: Jackie Zumalt, Grangeville, Columbian Ground Squirrel; Third: John Zillich, Anatone, Wash., Weis’s Sheds.

•Other (pastel, graphite, colored pencil, mixed media): First: Kevin Cahill, Boise, Corn Husks; Second: Misty Guisto, Lucile, Cowboy & Horse; Third: Kevin Cahill, Boise, Sunflowers.

•Photography: First: Joy Swift, Riggins, Old Hands, New Shoes; Second: Sue Tacke, Greencreek, Jeep’s Last Stand: Third: Sue Tacke, Greencreek, R Is For Red.

•Scuplture: First: Wendy Hook, Riggins, Salmon Fisherman; Second: William Roever, Meridian, Orange Crush; Third: Nancy Gresham, White Bird, Small Mouth Bass with Big Appetite.

•Judge’s Choice: First: Susie Barnett, New Meadows, Birdie; Second: Lorin Young, Winchester, Spring in Idaho; Third: Patty Ost, Orofino, Winter On River.
