Halloween, harvest events start today, run through Tuesday

Kids and adults alike gathered at Kamiah’s Riverfront Park for the annual pumpkin carving event held Oct. 22. The celebration included free pumpkins, food, face painting and fun. This is put on annually by Mike and Pam Hipes and a plethora of volunteers they have gathered to assist.

‘St. Scary’s Haunted Hospital’

COTTONWOOD – St. Scary’s Haunted Hospital it set for Halloween, Tuesday, Oct. 31, 5-7:30 p.m., in the lot behind the clinic. Stop in for trick-or-treating, apple bobbing, pin-the-nose-on-the-pumpkin and more. The event is sponsored by St. Mary’s Hospital and Clinics.

GHS FFA haunted house, carnival set for Halloween

Grangeville High School’s FFA will be host to a Halloween carnival and haunted house on Halloween, Tuesday, Oct. 31.

Stop in and play laser tag and a variety of games from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Concessions available. Tickets are four for $1.

The haunted house will be open from 5:30 to 8 p.m., and costs $5 for one pass through or $15 for an unlimited pass.

Trick or treat at GHR

GRANGEVILLE — Grangeville Health and Rehab will be hosting a “Trick or Treat” event at its facility for ages 1 through 8 Tuesday, Oct. 31, 4 to 5 p.m.

Halloween Trunk or Treat event set at Idaho County Courthouse

GRANGEVILLE – The annual Halloween Trunk or Treat event will be held Tuesday, Oct. 31, 4-6 p.m., at the Idaho County Courthouse back parking lot.

Children are invited to participate in this trick-or-treat event by going “trunk to trunk” in a family friendly atmosphere as part of a safe-and-sane Halloween program

The event is free to all Idaho county residents. Those who want to help with the event with donations of candy or prizes, drop these off at the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office (ICSO).

The event is presented by ICSO along with Grangeville police and fire departments, Syringa Hospital ambulance crew, and area businesses.

Catapult contest set for Kamiah Library

KAMIAH – The Kamiah Library will host a Halloween catapult contest for all ages (geared toward children) Thursday, Oct. 26, 1 to 5 p.m. Stop by the library at 505 Main Street. Call 208-935-0428 for details.

Library Halloween party is Oct. 25

GRANGEVILLE – A Halloween party is set for Wednesday, Oct. 25, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., at the Grangeville Centennial Library. Snacks, grab bags, games and prizes are set for story hour, and a costume contest and pumpkin decorating.

‘Hall of Horrors’ set for Elk City on Oct. 27-28

ELK CITY – A Halloween “Hall of Horrors” will be held at the Elk City School Friday, Oct. 27, 6 to 9 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 28, 4 to 8 p.m.

The Habit has ‘tricks and treats’ Oct. 31

COTTONWOOD – Join the crew at The Habit, 406 King Street, Cottonwood, on Tuesday, Oct. 31, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. for a hot chocolate bar and Halloween goodies. Hot chocolate will be free for trick-or-treaters ages 3-12.

Harvest party set at Nazarene church

GRANGEVILLE — A harvest party is set for Tuesday, Oct. 31, 4:30-7:30 p.m., at the Grangeville Church of the Nazarene. Games, booths, food and candy will be part of the evening.

Spaghetti feed, silent auction, carnival set for Oct. 27

KOOSKIA – Clearwater Valley Presbyterian Preschool will host a spaghetti feed, silent auction and kids’ carnival fund-raiser Friday, Oct. 27, 5 to 7:30 p.m., at the Clearwater Valley Elementary School gym.

New this year will be a basketball hoop and Nerf gun target game, as well as a bounce house slide and games. Dinner starts at 6 p.m. and the silent auction runs 5 to 7 p.m.

Kids are invited to wear super hero costumes.

Tickers from CVP parents are $6 for adults, $3 for children 12 and younger; $1 more at the door. Call 208-935-8900 for questions.

Kamiah kids invited to participate in costume contest Oct. 31

KAMIAH — On Halloween, Tuesday, Oct. 31, kids are invited to join the October costume contest after school. They will line up in front of the Kamiah Fire Station for judging, then proceed to trick-or-treat at the Main Street businesses.
