Salmon River to play in 1AD2 title tournament

On to state!

All but one local volleyball team’s season is now over, with Prairie's having come to a close in a five-setter won 3-2 by Genesee (25-21, 21-25, 24-26, 25-22, 15-13) during the Whitepine League upper division's District II tournament at LCSC last week. The Pirates had eliminated Kamiah earlier in the week, and beat Potlatch 3-0 to reach the consolation final.

Summit's 1AD2 state tournament hopes survived the WPL lower division's District II tournament, with wins over Highland and Nezperce clearing the way for a 3-0 win over Kendrick in the consolation final last night. Summit was eliminated by Council in a play-in match last Saturday in Grangeville.

Having placed first in the District III volleyball tournament, Salmon River secured seeding in the 1AD2 tournament to be played in Lewiston Oct. 27-28. The Savages beat Council to qualify outright on Tuesday night, Oct. 17.
