Elk City News: Patriot Day commemorates 9-11

Jamie Edmondson Elk City 842-2452

— Hope you all enjoyed your Labor Day holiday. Next celebration is Monday, Patriot Day, though not a three-day weekend like the one we just had.

Patriot Day is recognized by US law as the official day of remembrance for the tragic events of 9-11-2001, and has been observed every year since. Each year on this day, American flags are flown at half-staff to honor and commemorate those lives lost. Please pray for the families who lost loved ones on that day.

Fall is here already! Boy, did the summer go by fast or what! Summer activities are over. Kids are in school … getting ready for hunting season … But it’s still unseasonably hot in Elk City.

Several fires started, but looks like they are under control. Thank you, firefighters.

Meetings: Elk City Area Alliance, Monday, the 11th.

Birthdays: Debbie Rendleman.
