The Grangeville FFA Chapter had an amazing year in the 2017 Idaho County Fair. The I.C.F has always been enjoyable for young and old, with everything from delicious Lions burgers and huckleberry ice cream to live music and a parade to end the events and festivities.

The Grangeville Chapter of the FFA was there not just to have fun and enjoy the food, but to also show off their summer’s hard work.

FFA member Tessa Godfrey, who has been showing hog for 11 years, went home with the Outstanding FFA Project Award by Musick & Sons, first high individual in livestock judging, grand champion senior hog showman, and reserve champion overall hog showman.

FFA member Paige Layman was called back to the final round for both fitting and showing for her lamb project. FFA member and first-time showman Wyatt Williams also competed with his market hog project.

The Grangeville chapter also succeeded as a group in livestock judging, placing first. Members of the livestock judging team include Gabe Forsmann, Marie Heckman, Wayne Whinery, Tessa Godfrey, Wyatt Williams, Abby Asker and Paige Layman.

The Grangeville chapter would like to send a special thank you to Musick & Sons for supporting the outstanding FFA Project Award, Les Schwab in Grangeville for buying Tessa’s pig, Spencer Ranch for buying Paige’s lamb, and Robomco Hay and Irwin Drug for buying Wyatt’s hog. Thank you for supporting our members and our chapter, we truly appreciate it.
