Passion vs. emotion

Letters to the Editor

Passion is disciplined self-directed love that sustains innate irrational emotions for an object or subject, with a goal. Emotions, in and of themselves, have no aim, no object, merely outbursts of energy without a rational goal. We confuse emotions with passion. Humans are neurotic by birth. We enter this world in trauma. From the comfort of a womb into the post-natal state which nurtures hopefully a sound foundation. A foundation built on love and grounded with paradigms that allow one to build a stable world which sustains persons to triangulate their data to overcome entropy/disorder such that that an individual achieves success to survive. Failure to achieve, where neurological and psychological development is arrested and leads to errors of behavioral computation in meeting objectives of need and not desire end in despair.

“Education is the transformation of knowledge and practice that enables the individual to develop his or her specific self-interest.” Knowledge is power.

Individuals who have no spiritual substrate to sustain a healthy outlook revert to a material prism. Actualization built on understanding from a knowledge comes from a healthy body, mind and spirit.
