— The wind blew and left a big mess for cleanup. The crews were out picking up tree branches and leaves when I went through there. Hope everyone is ok. August went out with the wind- storm and now September brings on the fall and hunting season.

Reminder that food bank pickup is on the 7th at 12:30 p.m.

I was able to visit with Erico and Emma Carrillo of Emma’s Mexican Food, now being served out of Mac’s on Wednesdays through Mondays. They are open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., closed Tuesdays and the phone is 208-839-2600. They have gotten their menu up and going with nothing more than $11, including the specials. Some of the food being served is street tacos, beef or pork burrito, specialty dishes consist of carne asada plate, pork pozole, chile verde and chicken mole. Emma also has a specialty of chicken or pork tamales. These are all recipes from Erico’s mother and come straight from Mexico. So, stop by, welcome them to our small town, and when you’re there, try out the food!!

Next brown bag will be today, and the program will consist of Years on the Upper North Fork of the Clearwater River by Tom Keller. This starts at noon and remember to bring your lunch.

The fire crew has pulled out of the arena, but it will be locked to the public for the time being just in case they need to come back. Let’s hope the fires are all out soon and it starts to cool down.

Birthday wishes go out to Michelle Smith, Brenda Heckman, Brian Basler (3), Chris Alley, Kevin Blair, Grace Fanning, Sharon Pakkala (4), Bruce Dreher, Hans Breivik, Christy Galberth, Barb Lowe, Tanya Doffing (5), Tucker Farmer (6), Carol Gortsema, Jim Carlson (7), Kathy Lucchesi, Christina Duncan (8),Waune Whinery, Millie Robinette, and Jacob Larson (9). In memory of Neva Shuck, Bill Howerton (5) and Lisa (9).

Anniversaries are Dave and Joann Hueth (4) and Richard and Janis Comrie, Steve and Shawn Smith (6).

This week’s news is short with the early deadline because of the long weekend. The paper will come out afterwards but I hope all had a safe and happy Labor Day!

TidBits: After the long article for the last two weeks, I decided to give you a break. It will be back next week.
