No way could do worse than right now with fires everywhere

Letters to the Editor

Leonard Wallace’s letter (Aug. 30) hit the proverbial nail right on the head. He makes a very good cause, in my estimation, for reversion of the national forests and other federal lands to the respective states.

In my view, there is virtually no way they could do worse than what we are experiencing right now with wildfires everywhere. If the forests had been managed properly, which would include logging, reforestation, landing strips, helipads, roads — all of which are opposed by the land-grabbing environmentalist bureaucrats now running the show – there would likely be no wildfires that could not be controlled in a reasonably short time.

In my opinion, the entire federal government has become infested with environmentalists; mostly Democrats with vast plans; but only half vast action, getting virtually nothing done. That’s the swamp, and it is damn well time to drain it.
