We want to take this opportunity to express appreciation to all the fire agencies that responded and quickly stabilized the Dewey Two Fire. We, who live along China Garden Road, were spared the damage which, without question, would have been severe to both property and homes. The response given by our own Harpster Volunteer Fire Department, Idaho Department of Lands and the U.S. Forest Service was above and beyond expectations!
We thank you all for quick actions and major efforts in containing the fire. Mention should also be given to our neighbors Gordon Eckel and Arden Lytle. With his bulldozer, Gordon opened up containment around the fire and widened the main road for emergency vehicles. In addition, he has, on several occasions, opened two miles of snowbound roads extending around our subdivision. Arden Lytle, our fire chief, continually works hard organizing and directing the firefighters. He is always available to help and assist any neighbor when needed.
It is indeed great to have neighbors, friends and agencies who respond to the needs and welfare of others. Thanks to each and every one of you!
