Turkey Time Keith Cornia (13) of Grangeville and Roy Kinner got out on opening day between raindrops. Cornia was able to score a jake. “This was one of 13 birds that came running in to the blind, decoys and calls,” Kinner said. “It is Keith’s second turkey in his career. It was a cool, crisp, wet, dismal morning, but it only took an hour for the birds to come in and give Keith a shot. As fast as they came running, I think Keith shot one in self defense or we might have gotten run over. A perfect start to the youth turkey season.”

Noah King (15) and Cameron King (12), both of Nampa, harvested wild turkey gobblers on April 8. They used shotguns donated by Grangeville Lions Club and equipment supplied by the local chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation.
