— They say if you build it…we will use it! Well, I guess progress has finally come to our little town. I have been told that above the cemetery, on the DeWitt’s old place, a cell tower is being put up. Watch for the new shiny metal in the glowing sun.

This the final push for the White Bird Rodeo queen tryouts, this Saturday, April 14th at the rodeo arena. Girls you still have time to contact Kami Fogleman at 208-983-1726 or 208-983-8779 for sign up or for information.

Rodeo posters are going out and congratulations to Duane and Sharon Sickels on being chosen grand marshals. This year’s theme is Mardi Gras – celebrating 40 years of White Bird Days, so be thinking of your entries for the parade and I’ll have more information as it draws nearer.

The chamber has rescheduled their meeting to this Friday, April 13 at 10:30 a.m., so if any business owners, community folks or organizations can make the meeting, we welcome you.

If you haven’t been down to Red’s lately, you need to check out the menu as Cheryl and Jenny have some great daily specials, homemade to boot!

Cribbage winners for the week were Steve Fox taking 1st and Glen DeFord took 2nd.

Pinochle winner was Rick Alley.

Our prayers and thoughts go out to the families of Marge Wright and Anita Robinson Smith. Also, many may not know him, but he had many friends along the Salmon River, and was a very good friend of my husband’s family, Lloyd Coley passed away in California at his home at the age of 90 plus years. May you all find peace and remembrance in their memories.
