WHITE BIRD Idaho Rural Water Association recently presented Sandy Murphy with the administrator of the year award at the annual spring conference March 22.
The Administrator of the Year Award recognizes an administrative employee for outstanding performance in office management and procedures. To be eligible for this award, nominees must be affiliated with an IRWA system member in good standing with full voting rights.
“Murphy has shown outstanding performance in office management, especially when handling the recent water crisis in White Bird. During that time, she worked tirelessly to find and deliver valuable resources like bottled drinking water, water trucks to fill the City’s water tanks, and potable water for showering and washing. She helped organize volunteers to deliver water to citizens who were shut-in and unable to leave their homes, find lodging and provide food to those assisting in the water emergency event,” the press release read. “All the while, she was able to work with state and local agencies to secure financial assistance to help with the water loss and hopefully improve the water system. Despite being a fairly new employee to White Bird, Murphy showed tenacity, grace, and efficiency that made her an obvious choice for this award.”
IRWA is a non-profit association of water and wastewater systems in Idaho that primarily serve populations of 10,000 or less.
