Katelyn J. Thayer, 17, was killed in the April 21 crash reported 2.4 miles up the Salmon River Road, according to the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office.

At approximately 9 p.m., the Idaho County Sheriff’s Dispatch Center received a report that a vehicle had crashed and was upside down in the river.

While responding, Riggins Ambulance was met by a vehicle transporting Alaska Frandsen, 17, of Malad. Frandsen was ejected from the vehicle and witnesses transported her to meet the ambulance.

Frandsen advised responders there were multiple persons in the vehicle. While uprighting the vehicle, persons reported to be in the vehicle arrived on scene.

At this time, it is undetermined who was driving the vehicle.
