Idaho Freedom Foundation - Stop promoting ways to mess with freedoms

Letter to the Editor

Stop the presses! Gear up the modem. The Idaho Freedom Foundation wants you to get your news on line.

Phil Haunschild of the Idaho Freedom Foundation says the government shouldn’t have to pay newspapers to advertise public notices to “We the people.” Why did Haunschild send his guest opinion (July 25) to newspapers when, as he states, only thirty-three million people receive newspapers? Because more than thirty-three million people read newspapers.

Computers aren’t secure. Remember Equifax, the IRS, Bank of America, Premera, Hearthstone Financial, Idaho Fish and Game, Home Depot and more have all been hacked? And what if my device falls into the toilet? And no more athlete of the week clippings to send to grandma or put into the scrapbook.

Who pays IFF to do their lobbying? Does it come from Big Business? Does the IFF really want a better snapshot of your on-line profile to target you with their agenda? I think IFF should go fund themselves and stop promoting ways to mess with our freedoms. The government subsidizes the NFL and oil companies and more that benefit only the wealthy. I think our tax money is better spent on newspapers that benefit everybody.

Support the First Amendment and the free press. Read, think and stay free.
