Cottonwood woman killed in Sunday night collision

ISP investigating fatal crash on U.S. 95 that blocked roadway five hours



— Idaho State Police is investigating a Sunday evening two-vehicle collision on U.S. Highway 95 that resulted in the death of a Cottonwood woman.

Alexus Cane, 18, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Next of kin has been notified.

The roadway was blocked for five hours Sunday evening, Aug. 12, following the collision reported at approximately 8:10 p.m. at the south entrance to Cottonwood (milepost 254.6).

According to ISP, Cane was travelling north in the southbound lane of travel in a 2000 Kia Sephia, when her vehicle collided head on with a 2017 Dodge Ram 3500 pulling a 30-foot camper trailer. Driver of the Dodge, Carrie Marek, 37, of White Bird, and her passenger were transported with non-life-threatening injuries to St Mary’ Hospital in Cottonwood.
