Minor injuries result in two-vehicle accident Sunday at Cottonwood

— Both drivers received minor injuries following a two-vehicle accident outside town Sunday evening.

Jill K. Seubert, 51, of Cottonwood, was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Cottonwood by ambulance. Gracen Christensen, 23, of White Bird, was taken to St. Mary’s by private vehicle.

The crash was reported at 5:51 p.m. on Aug. 12 at the intersection of Cottonwood Butte and Substation roads, according to an Idaho County Sheriff’s Office report. Christensen was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu westbound on Cottonwood Butte Road when a 2010 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Seubert, came northbound off Lewiston Street in front of him, causing him to run into the side of the vehicle. The Malibu came to rest in the middle of Substation Road, and the Impala went into a ditch.

Failure to yield by Seubert was a factor in the crash. No citations were issued. Of the two, only Christensen was wearing a seat belt. Wrecker services for both vehicles was handled by Fred’s Towing of Cottonwood.
