Norma and I would like to thank the federal and state agency employees, helicopter pilot and 911 operator who helped us with our spot fire after the thunderstorms on Friday night.
Tyler and his Forest Service crew and engine were right behind the helicopter doing precision water drops on the fire. They stayed on site until the Idaho Department of Lands crew came to fill in with their jurisdictional duties. Mike, Ty, and Jesse completed felling the snag and mopping up with their engine, using the original hose lay done by the FS crew. These firefighters were all very professional, level headed and gracious to me and my neighbor, Dixie Lynn. Dixie does great photography and the crew did their best to complete their task with a camera pointed at them. They returned the next day to check on the fire to be sure it was out.
We are very grateful for their timely response, technical expertise and excellent public service. We hope they make some good money and stay safe for the rest of the fire season.
