Cottonwood News: Westoff retires from NICI after 30 years

Donna Wassmuth Cottonwood 962-3561

— What a welcome rain we had during the weekend! I know some of the farmers are not completely finished with harvest, but I’ll bet they don’t mind too much. The rain should help the fire situation. We live in the country with lots of fresh air. We should not have to breath the smoky air like they do in the cities.

Some schools have already started and the rest will be starting soon. Where did our summer go? Good luck to those going off to college for the first time.

Congratulations to the 2019 Fair Royalty: Queen Naomi Connolley, 1st Princess Clarissa Stevens, and 2nd Princess Madison Adams. Have a great year!

Also, congratulations to Sheryl Westoff on her retirement after working for NICI for more than 30 years. Enjoy your time off.

This bears repeating as it is a very important bill. I have copies of the petition if anyone needs one. Contact me at my email address below.

In the 1973 case Roe v Wade the United states Supreme Court made “abortion on demand” legal in the United States. Since then, more than 61 million unborn babies have been aborted! If unborn babies were legally defined as “persons” at the time of conception, they would have U.S. Constitutional protection to their right to life and Roe v Wade would be overturned. U.S. Senator Rand Paul has authored a bill which defines human “life” as beginning at conception. (Senate Bill 231 – The Life at Conception Act). Contact the National Pro-Life Alliance or Larry Dunn at 208-494-4740 and lend your support to get action on the Life at Conception Act in 2018. Mailing address for Rand Paul is 167 Russell Senate Office Building, Washington DC 20510. Contact your senators and representatives to encourage them to back this bill. Maybe this is the year we can get this overturned. This is a non-partisan issue. Both sides of the aisle should be supporting this bill.
