Reporting no longer by the old fundamentals

Letters to the Editor

Where do you find truth? Newspaper, TV, computer, Ipad, Google, cell phone? Sorry, none of them will give you the “unedited” truth. It doesn’t matter whether you are a liberal or conservative, white or black, or whatever. Reporters no longer go by the old fundamentals of journalism; IE: who, what, when, where, how, etc. Today’s reporters go by who (black/white, Dem/Rep, sexual orientation, rich/poor, etc.); what (Is this story in line with the owner of the paper and its editor’s polices.); when (will it really matter?); where (only if it offends someone); how (If you don’t know, make something up that will shock or offend someone); and lastly (If you are not sure, fake it. And just throw a mud ball and see where it splatters).

Just remember that the public is stupid! If it’s an outright lie or a partial truth you can print a retraction on page 17 of next Sunday’s edition.

PS: It’s in the B---E.
